# What is the difference between a reservation and a booking?

**A booking:** you clicked on the button ‘BOOK NOW’. That means you requested a booking. The confirmation of the space provider leads to a binding booking. Cancellation fee may occur when canceling. 

**A reservation:** you clicked on the button ‘RESERVE’. That means you requested a reservation. The confirmation of the space provider leads to a non-binding reservation which is valid for 3 days. Now you have 3 days to make your final decision and make a binding booking out of it. After the 3 days our system is going to cancel it automatically. A cancellation of a reservation is always free of charge.
