A space provider is not allowed to cancel your confirmed booking. If the provider does, we’ll find you a similar or better venue, or we’ll refund you. Our Space Management Team will reach out to the venue in order to solve this matter. 2. **Before your booking or reservation **you can contact the space provider by sending a direct message via the space profile. Just go to the section ‘The host/provider’ and click on ‘Contact now’. During the request setting process you can also add a message for the space provider to your request. Just click on ‘Message to provider’ under step 7 ‘Finalize’. During your pending or confirmed booking or reservation you can communicate with the space provider via the booking platform under the tab ‘Conversation’. Any conversation on the booking platform is also visible to your Support Team. Please be aware that they don’t receive a notification about the message like the space provider does. As soon as the booking is confirmed the space provider’s contact details (name, address, phone number) are available on the booking platform for you

What is the fair commission for Spacebase service?

At Spacebase, we believe in a flexible commission that we only charge when we actually create new business for you. Therefore, the earnings that we generate for you are largely incremental to your regular business. Our standard commission is 20% on the whole booking price.

We believe 20% is a fair commission that covers all the activities we do for you as a space. Among other things, those are:

Online marketing to acquire customers for you - which can cost up to EUR 150 per booking and more
The development and improvement of our tech-platform that allows you to accept bookings completely automatic at close to zero effort for you
Payment handling and reconciliation fees of 3%+ of the booking value on average
Discovery of new spaces, preparing and maintaining profiles and suggesting you to potential clients as agency service
Fraud prevention and conflict resolution

We believe that the value creation of a booking should be split across all parties based on their contribution. Since our activities are largely focussed in the first place around demand acquisition and booking processing as a whole, our commission applies to the full hire price including extras. We continuously evaluate third party suppliers also for extra services and are happy to provide you with vetted local partners that can provide competitive service prices considering our comm

What is the difference between a Venue and a Space?

If you want to upload your rooms you need to create a Venue as well as a Space. Please note that you need to add a minimum of one space to get bookings and earn money!

The Venue can be seen as a house with multiple rooms in it, those rooms then being the Spaces. Let's say you are renting out a castle - the Venue would then show an overall impression of the whole castle. The Spaces would then represent the rooms you individually rent out within the whole castle. So you would set up an individual space profile for your ballroom, as well as for your dining room if they can be rented separately. Please note that even if you only have one room to rent out that you still need to create a Venue and a Space profile. In this case, you can add the same information in the Venue profile as in the Space profile.

What if a space provider asks for a payment outside of the booking platform?

Accepted Answer

As we are your contractual partner and invoice you, don’t pay the space provider- if not otherwise stated on the booking platform. Thus, please, let the Support Team know immediately. We will never ask you to pay for anything outside of our booking platform, through email or through a third-party booker.

Report requests for off-site payment

If a space provider asks you to pay off-site or through another company, report it to our Support Team.

To report a message asking you to pay outside of Spacebase:

If you receive an email from anyone (including an info@spacebase.com or any other @spacebase.com email address) asking you to pay or accept payment off-site, let the Support Team know immediately.

On the Spacebase booking platform you can pay per credit card, paypal or invoice. The invoice is attached in the email with the booking confirmation or sent separately as an attachment. If a space provider uses any of these - Western Union, MoneyGram, cashier's check, money order, Liberty Reserve - immediately contact our Support Team.
